The Firth Planning Commission is made up of five members appointed by the Village Board. Four members live within the corporate boundaries of the village and the remaining member resides in the one-mile jurisdiction.

The Planning Commission meets the first Tuesday of the month as needed. They meet at least once a quarter per Nebraska State Statute. The meetings are at 6:00pm at the Community Center and are open to the public. Notice of Meetings and agendas are posted at the Firth Post Office, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Sadie's General Store, and this site.

The Planning Commission reviews all applications for building permits within the village and one-mile jurisdiction. They then make a recommendation of approval or denial of the application to the Village Board.

If you wish to apply for a building permit you can download an application from this site, or call the village office to have one sent to you. All applications require a site map and set of building plans to be complete. Applications for building permits must be received at least 10 days prior to the next meeting to be placed on the agenda for that meeting.
