Dogs

The Village of Firth has an ordinance that requires all dogs be confined to the owner's premises at all times except when controlled by a leash. If a dog is found in violation of this ordinance, village maintenance will capture the dog and Lancaster County Animal Control will pick it up. It will be the owner's responsibility to pay the required fees to retrieve the dog. The Village board asks that you be considerate of your neighbors and keep your dog(s) from barking excessively. When walking your dog, please pick up after it. All dogs must be on a leash when not on owners property. Annual licensing of dogs is required. Applications are due March 31 of each year. A license is good through March 31 of the following year. There is a $10 annual fee per dog. **For further information regarding dog issues please see the Municipal Code on the documents page of this website.
